I once read an article that associated migraine prevention/relief from taurine use. The article was titled something like "why do energy drinks help my migraine" but I can't find it now. The article stated that migraine sufferers reported relief after drinking energy drinks and it was thought that it was due to the taurine, rather than the caffeine. Caffeine is also known to help with migraine pain. I don't think taurine alone can prevent migraines for me, but it has another added benefit.

I didn't want to slurp down energy drinks on a regular basis because of all the caffeine and sugar and dog knows what else, so I started taking taurine supplements every day. It does help some with migraines, but I also noticed that if I took taurine during the day, I would become really sleepy. So I googled it and, sure enough, taurine can make you drowsy. I also have chronic sleep problems, so now I take it when I go to bed to help me sleep a little longer.

It will be interesting to see further research about this, especially the potential risks of dyslipidemia.

Thank you for posting this, Quixote.
