It's not that simple. Deception detection is not based on singular indicators.

It's necessary to look at the overall picture and performance of individuals in communication when attempting to evaluate any level of deception.

Facial expressions, speech patterns, and body language (known clinically as non-verbal communication) analysed through several different categories all contribute when assessing deception.
