1. The OP says 'sexual' violence. What about non-sexual violence?

I've been beaten nearly to death a few times, and that's no fun either. I had my jaw broken and was wired up for six weeks.

Yeah, it was in no way sex-related, but still... violence sucks.

I understand that being raped during or after being beaten is worse that simple assault, but I'm left wondering why Americans are so violent in general. Why is it that so many of us think it's OK to have our way with someone who may be weaker?
