18. Reached "normal" range for my AIC on today's blood chemistry

A 5.4 !! Been trying to get "normal" since 2010 without insulin. Yes, that has felt like forever and often out of reach. Row cropping and truck gardening has me more active in the summer so I've always done better in the summer. But nothing like this result.

I did about 11 years of ever-increasing doses of metformin, then added glipizide with increasing doses of that. A couple of years ago I got an empagliflozin (jardiance) Rx and added that to my morning doses.

As the ads said, I lost a bit of weight. I also established a routine with pretty frequent trips to the backside of bushes and tall weeds in the fence rows. An effect that really wasn't covered in the ads.

This summer I was determined to back my weight down which has happened modestly. Chemistry and discipline. Who'd have thought that could work (other than maybe the doc and his nurses)?
