Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Does anyone have an idea why repugs in Wisconsin forced the in-person primary which endangers lives? [View all]Kablooie
(18,824 posts)It's a naked power grab by Republicans.
They value power over lives and don't care who knows it.
The vote is not just the primary, there are many local politicians and judges to be decided.
They explained that the fewer people that vote the better are Republican chances are to win.
To extend absentee voting would allow many to vote that normally don't and increase Democratic odds.
Also few poll workers have volunteered so there are few polling places open.
They also said that this is likely to be a harbinger of things to come for other states.
They didn't mention that having fewer polling places will create bigger crowds which will increase virus infections.
