My PhD was in influenza and I currently work in a field where I see this virus frequently.

An HPAI outbreak would be devastating as the death rate for high path viruses tends to be higher than COVID (at least for pneumonia cases - many workers are getting conjunctivitis thus far). Around 50% mortality. 😱
