I have been thinking about my grandmother, too. In 1984 she moved permanently from her home here in New York to a retirement community in Western NC, beautiful area. I also spent a lot of time in both places. But where she lived in NC was subject to the hurricane flooding since it was right near Asheville, NC. I've seen videos/photos of this beautiful area which was completely under water, many homes and landmarks destroyed. My grandmother passed in late 1998 and though I still miss her every day, I'm grateful that she didn't have to experience that devastation. What is happening in this country??
