I’m a little reluctant to analyze the body language of Musk because he’s on the spectrum, but keeping that in mind….

When you watch this video, he often straightens his shoulders and thrusts himself forward. Posturing. It seems he is always posturing.

This reminds me of someone who is not concerned about a true exchange of communication with the listener, but of what and how he is going to say something. Never once does he clarify; instead he seems to be setting the stage for his next grand pronouncement.

Communication is a wonderful tool to get the thoughts of another person, another viewpoint, another set of eyes. What could be wrong with that? You can only benefit from the thoughts of others, provided they are willing to be honest with you.

Contrast this affect with what we see from a person like Jamie Raskin or Andrew Weissman. Instead of self-conscious posturing, what we see with them is intense concentration. There is sawdust on the floor from the mental work they are doing. Engagement is what we see: not some prancing peacock looking for an ego stroke.
