Not without their explicit permission. They have been through enough. The names of the abusive male rapists and the sleazy people who took Epstein’s money should be out there.
If academic science wants to for example normalize a total creep like V.S.Ramachandran who had “no problem with taking money from Epstein”, then it should reflect poorly on the work and academic culture of UCSD.
I have largely avoided the Epstein files stories as they are unpleasant to read. But they are an example of an open secret that was horrific.
Normalizing a slide into more of this stuff at the same time true trivialities sucked up so much oxygen was a characteristic of the Internet from 2000-the present, as social media and search giants got their grips into society. The NSA scandals seem almost quaint in this present Panopticon. This perverse embrace of 1984 must not be normalized.
There has to be an out from this endless trap deregulation fueled internet dramas, cyclical backlashes and this foul dichotomy: normalization of horrors existing cheek by jowl with a brainless, liability conscious culture that then swings the other way policing jokes and speech and promoting censorship as civilized while neatly leaving in all the actual abuse..enough of this shit.
It is actually very typical. Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. The appearance of a type of prim, moralizing propriety justified by moralizing, hectoring judgemental frauds who clutch their pearls over bullshit from all sides (when convenient), all while being quite cool with making life hell for women in any real sense.
The ever escalating crises should not be an excuse for more of the same.
We are at a crossroads re this surveillance filled society where one can double down on this Les Miserables shit - mob justice or our shitty systems. And as many real horrors go on destabilising all aspects of society. Or we can shoot for something new, fresh and surprising over endless stale surprise minimization for our creepy pseudo elites and our mostly craven, thought averse and lazy elites, with constant unpleasant surprises for the rest of us. Critical thinking is their real enemy.
Often female victims don’t want to talk about it especially when they are from troubled backgrounds. I recognize some of these behaviors even as a non-expert, but a woman with some understanding of how women act out when forced to live in degrading and abusive circumstances for extended periods. And I have always been fortunate in supportive, loving and stable parents and networks, this vile overlay on society for the past 14+ years aside.
It is nothing like Epstein, but I am filing complaints against a corrupt and deeply misogynistic thing where I am from (not the US), though it started in the US originally in 2011. Though that is also on the cards.

It is evident that many of these women would rather be left alone, aside from the messiness of resolving their issues and reintegrating into society as best as they can.
The woman repeatedly told FBI agents she believed it served no purpose to tell her story because the events occurred so long ago. Trump had also been elected president in 2016. She informed agents in August, 2019 that she wanted them to know she had sued Epstein’s estate, in case it posed a conflict with their investigation.

We have chatted about Herman Wouk in the past (which I will admit is the extent of my knowledge of Jewish culture).
In my defence, I know as little about what I suppose is my culture as I do about any.
Nominally Indian Hindu..pretty much actually just blah. I have no community or culture. I wonder now if I have a nomad somewhere in my ancestry who cavils at forced new forms of community and collaboration doomed to fail. Certainly I am all biological and dislike machines except when passive aids to human work. But I also dislike humans sometimes. Rarely and always personal not a group. I am entirely unforgiving of personal wrongs suffering from no martyr complex.
That is a glib remark about nomads and no doubt a wag or a painfully earnest intellectual on the net would dissect a casual flight of fancy explaining why actually that was not how nomads functioned and how only Luddites are dismissive of and contemptuous towards machines. The Roma were not very popular with Hitler any more than Jewish people were. I have read about war via fiction not historical literature, but it was an odd little Canadian book “The Rebel Angels” which drew my attention to the Roma.

Fortunately for me, standalone, I am the opposite of a mensch..well not quite. But it is asking to be taken advantage of to be excessively a mensch these days.
Jewish humans are disproportionately represented in the scientific* community even outside its present form (social engineering, warfare and shopping malls focused on what is “trending”).
That is very cool and has made a favorable impression on me as opposed to “my” culture’s penchant for those idiotic trends, machines and IT. There are only two things I truly love as a human: Earth and Science. Neither Earth nor science care whether humans believe in climate change or not. But nature’s fixes to out of balance systems and societies tend to be brutal.
There is this really shitty, trashy, atrocious school called Stanford - a third rate institution (like most owned by the fascist appeasers or fascists of Si Valley) with absolutely no positive qualities that are not profoundly outweighed by its negatives. A British biology professor aside, the few decent scientists I have seen associated with that pile of uniformly worthless garbage are Jewish - Peter Eastman, Eyal Ophir and the unfairly slandered and maliciously maligned Paul Ehrlich who was more prophetic than not. Paul joked about cannibalism before he died. Paul was not wrong. Eyal Ophir wrote the only good paper I have ever seen come out of Stanford. Hyperbole? What is that?
Paul Ehrlich was more of a humanist than those who endlessly attacked him. John Hennessy who once was the admin is more a harmless clunker than actively malicious though. But a thorough clunker. CS..lol.

I always knew Si Valley is right wing plus this spurious type of liberalism with no concern for the environment or economic equality, regulatory oversight, but thin vaguely socially liberal platitudes alone. So it is better they are honest about being ecocidal and on a long enough timeline genocidal if you have no bunker access. They should brutally honest about what they are so their descendants can after coming out of radiation sheltering bunkers try to figure out how to paint the rest of us who woll be long dead and without any descendants as the real problem.

Hello trashy Willow chip, how may I calculate the correct level of reputation management hustle that does not affect war profiteering nor commodifying other humans’ lives for “health entertainment” etc. My or rather I shoukd say our collective choices after rubbishy Willow chip simulations I run inside my fathead will be distributed in a way predicted by the Central Limit Theorem, with the mean group decisions always unselfishly and cooperatively supporting more profits for Si Valley creeps at huge personal and professional costs to the planet/everyone else because that is universal! Like the exxon scientists who warned the public about climate change and were ignored, the people trying to alert the public to these nuisances with real science or info..Today it is hard to see how that will be allowed where real. I can see the real safety issues. I find it hard to believe anything will be done about them by that crowd..
Otoh it is not any less real -the actually real science though it must be way more complex than even than climate change..it is easier to imagine finally as these lousy ubiquitous trash technologies hog more space unsolicited.
